South Andaman
Chatham Saw Mill is one of the oldest and largest sawmills in Asia. Established by the British in 1883, the mill played an important role in the timber industry of the Andaman Islands. Located on Chatham Island near Port Blair, the sawmill is connected to the mainland by a bridge.
The site also includes a small museum that displays historical tools, machinery, and information about the timber industry. Visitors can explore the sawmill complex and learn about the history of wood processing in the Andaman region.
