Cellular Jail is one of the most iconic historical monuments in the Andaman Islands, known for its role during India’s freedom struggle.
Cellular Jail, located in Port Blair, is a historic colonial prison built by the British in 1906. It was used to exile political prisoners and freedom fighters. Today the jail stands as a national memorial and reminds visitors of the sacrifices made during the freedom struggle.
